General Camp Description:
Babes with Bullets? camps are offered for three skill levels. Practical Handgun 101 takes place over two and a half days. On the last half day of camp all campers participate in a practical pistol ?mini? match. Campers come from every walk of life and the age span has been from 18 to 78. The most important attribute is a willingness to try something new! All novice camps in 2010 are anticipated to have a small camera crew taping for use on the Babes with Bullets? television series through the Outdoor Channel.

Practical Handgun 201 and 301 last for two days. Camps can have twelve to twenty-four students. Regardless of the total number of participants, there is always at least one instructor for every six students. The training offered in these camps is based on techniques utilized by our World and National Champion instructors. Novice shooters will begin their instruction utilizing .22 caliber handguns and will advance to center-fire (usually 9mm) by the middle of the first day. Experienced shooters will begin their instruction with a center-fire handgun.

Which camp is right for you?

Practical Handgun 101 (PH101) camp is right for you if:

  • You have never fired a handgun before.
  • You have taken a handgun safety class (such as an NRA or your state CCW class), but you have very little experience actually shooting handguns.
  • You participate in Practical Pistol matches at a local club but usually finish toward the bottom of the pack.
  • You have a ?D? classification from the United States Practical Pistol Association. If you have a Novice or Marksman classification from the International Defensive Pistol Association.
  • You are a fairly experienced handgun shooter but you have never been introduced to the speed draw, or the speed reload; you have never shot moving targets with a handgun and you have never shot while you are moving.

Practical Handgun 201 (PH201) is right for you if:

  • You have participated in previous Babes with Bullets? Camps and the instructors have indicated that you are ready for the Intermediate camp.
  • You participate in Practical Pistol matches on a regular basis and have a ?C? or higher USPSA classification or Sharpshooter IDPA classification.

Practical Handgun 301 (PH301) is right for you if:

  • You are a serious Practical Pistol competitor with a ?B? or high USPSA classification or an Expert or Master IDPA classification.

If you are not sure which camp is right for you give Kay a call, outline your shooting experience and get her advice.

Reserve Camps:
For the last few years all of the Babes with Bullets? camps filled to maximum capacity many months in advance and every camp had an extensive waiting list. In 2010, in an effort to accommodate more novice campers, there will be a second ?reserve? camp scheduled at selected locations. This Reserve Camp will take place only if the first camp fills to capacity and there are a minimum of twelve registered participants. If you register for a Reserve Camp that is cancelled due to lack of participants you will receive a full refund. We will notify you well in advance as to a ?go? or ?no go? status of a Reserve Camp so you have plenty of time to make airline reservations.

Waiting List:
Once a camp is full no additional online reservations can be taken. To be on a stand-by list for a camp email Kay directly at Kay@Bang-Inc.com. Additional camp information, including airport shuttle service, concerns about ammo, etc. are coordinated by Deb Ferns starting about 60 days before each camp. Deb can be reached through her site of wwww.BabeswithBullets.com

Lodging/Guns/Ammo:
Your registration fee covers GROUP lodging. We normally stay in a lodge or series of condos located near the range. Our group lodging is generally "bunkhouse" style with six to eight ladies sharing a cabin or condominium. Those who choose to utilize the group lodging often must share a bed or in some cases sleep on an air mattress. If you choose to make other lodging arrangements we should be able to recommend a nearby hotel. The cost of camp remains the same even if you don't utilize the group lodging. We strongly encourage campers, even those who are local to the area, to spend the evenings with the group. This is an "immersion" style program where time spent both on the range and off the range is important! Estimate 500 to 600 rounds of ammo are needed for each camp. Deb Ferns will let campers know where to ship their ammo or if ammo will be available for purchase at each camp. Please do not run out and purchase a handgun for camp. We have S&W M&P 9mm pistols and all the necessary accessories to loan to campers at no additional charge.

Cost:
Price per woman for 2010 is $675.00. There is a $25.00 discount for campers that have their own personal USPSA or NRA membership. Price includes range fees, instructors and housing, along with most of the food! There is a 50% discounted scholarship available to each camp through the generosity of HiViz Sights.

Registration & Payment Using the Shopping Cart: If you register and pay online with your VISA, MasterCard, or Discover card full payment is required. If you prefer to pay by check or money order, register online, then choose the ?check or money order? payment option and mail a copy of your invoice with payment. If paying by check or money order you can send in a $300 deposit to reserve a spot or pay the full amount. Full payment is due 60 days before the start of camp. Please note that if the check or money order option is selected your monies must be received within 30 days or your name will be deleted from the camper reservation list.

Refund Policy: Full refunds are available with 60 days cancellation notice. Cancellation notices received after the 60 day deadline will receive a full refund only if the vacated spot can be filled.

Arrival Information: All PH101 campers should anticipate arriving the afternoon/early evening before camp begins for a safety briefing and equipment allocation. For instance on PH101-Princeton, LA, campers would arrive the afternoon of April 7th and depart the afternoon of April 10th. If you cannot make flight arrangements to depart until April 11th we will provide a shuttle to the local airport hotel of your choice.
